The Blessing of the Fleet ceremony is an age-old tradition in which boats parade past Platinum Point Yacht Club and the Commodore salutes the vessels, while the local clergy prays for a safe and bountiful season.

The Blessing of the Fleet ceremony is an age-old tradition in which boats parade past PPYC where the Commodore salutes the vessels and the local clergy pray for a safe and bountiful season.
Date: Thursday, March 12, 2026
Time: 2:00 PM (staging at 1:30 PM)
Who: Captain, Co-Captain and your crew - wear all white
What to do: Decorate your boat to show your nautical spirit!
Details: Tuesday, March 10 at 10:30 AM Captains’ Meeting – Please plan to attend.
We will share timing, staging and order depending on number of boats registered.
Deadline: Friday, March 9 by 5 PM
Captains, please sign up by contacting the Club Administrator by phone (941) 639-0733 or e-mail at office@ppycbsm.org, so we know how many boats to expect and can create the order.
Be sure when registering for this event to only register one person per boat as we want only the boat count and not number of people. Participants in the Blessing are asked to wear white.
EIGHT BELLS MEMORIAL SERVICE
The Eight Bells Memorial Service will celebrate the lives of members who have passed. It is the traditional way of saying a sailor's watch is over.
